The place for kids to compete
Located on Koch and Fifth Street on the south side of town is our 82-acre Pekin Sports Complex. Designed to be a hub for youth sports and programs, the Sports Complex has hosted numerous baseball, softball, soccer, and football games. This includes games organized through Pekin Park District programs, club sports, Boys & Girls Club, and more. Circling the park is a paved walking path, and there are also two children’s playgrounds on-site. All of the park’s playing fields include a small set of bleachers as well as places for spectators to set up their own chairs.

Eight lighted baseball/softball diamonds, four mini baseball diamonds, a ten-acres soccer area with accommodations for multiple age-appropriate files, and four regulation football fields make up the massive play space for kids ages two to 18. All athletic fields are fully irrigated from a well located on the site. To schedule activity at the Pekin Sports Complex, call (309) 347-7275. Sports Complex Rules and Regulations can be viewed here.
Two impressive playgrounds are also located at the Pekin Sports Complex. Slides, musical instruments, swings and climbing challenges are all options on these obstacle-course style sets. Start at one for some fun play, then take the walking path over to the next playground and run some more.
Have kids at practice or some down time during a game? Bring your walking shoes and get some extra steps in. Circling the fields is a 1.6-mile paved walking path that is great for a morning, afternoon or evening stroll. Because the area is relatively flat, this also makes a great walking trek for seniors or those unable to handle hills and uneven terrain.
With 82 acres of professionally cared for sports fields, the Pekin Park District Sports Complex is the perfect place to host your baseball, softball, soccer, football, or lacrosse tournament. Restrooms, concessions, and ample parking are also available. Fees vary depending on the number of days and fields being utilized by your tournament play. For more information and to schedule your tournament call (309) 347-7275.
Need a snack? The Sports Complex sells nachos, ice cream sandwiches, popcorn, pretzels, hot dogs, chips and more. Water fountains and restrooms are also located at the concession stands, as well as a covered area with tables for four. Hours and days are weather and event schedule dependent and are subject to change.
