Boating on the Lagoon

A true trademark of Mineral Springs Park, the paddle boats at Boating on the Lagoon have been enjoyed by generations of families in Pekin and the surrounding areas.

Located by the Pavilion, kids can often be seen eagerly asking their parents for a couple of dollars to run down the dock toward the colorful fleet of paddle boats and the infamous green Dragon.

The real fun begins while cruising out onto the water. Not only will you see fish chasing the wake of your travels, but you can also get a closer look at the many ducks and geese that call the Lagoon home each Summer.

A large water fountain also sprays high in the air, providing a cooling mist while your legs get a great workout. Be warned: if you let the boat captain steer you too close to the spray, you’ll get a little wetter than you planned.
