Mah-Jongg

Mah-Jongg is a game of skill with luck originating in China over two thousand years ago and has recently caught on in the US. This game is similar to rummy, however played with tiles instead of cards. Come learn or practice your Mah-Jongg skills. Beginners welcome!

Learn

AARP Smart Driver Course

This driver safety program is offered to those 50+ at the Miller Center in cooperation with AARP. This 2 – day program includes the Rules of the Road, as well as skills and techniques for safe driving. Learn the current laws and rules of Illinois. State Law requires insurance companies to give a premium reduction to those 55 and older who complete this accident prevention course. Registration required. Call Miller Center at (309) 346-5210 for more information and to reserve your spot!

Cost: $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-AARP members

Computer Lab

Drop in to surf the web or connect with friends and family via email and social media. The Miller Center Computer Lab is open to the public. Printing available for a nominal fee. Miller Center Computer Lab is sponsored by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes.

Computer Tutoring available

Let us help you to connect with family and friends, maintain your independence and explore your interests. This one on one tutoring environment at the Miller Center allows you to ask any questions and not feel embarrassed in front of your friends. Tutoring days and times will be set up between you and the instructor’s convenience. Suggested donation: $25/hour.

Rules of the Road

Secretary of State’s Office provides a free Rules of the Road Review Course designed to give drivers – especially seniors – the knowledge and confidence needed to renew or obtain a driver’s license. The review course combines an explanation of the driving exam with a practice written exam. free Rules of the Road courses for seniors to prepare for their driver’s license renewal. Transportation Service

Need a ride? Let the Miller Center pick you up! Pekin residents 50 and older can call to schedule a ride for destinations in Pekin and the surrounding areas. Medical appointments take precedence. Wheelchair transportation is available upon request. This service is made available in part through the Pekin Park District, Pekin United Way, fundraising events and rider donations. “In-town” suggested donation is $5.00. “Out-of-town” suggested donation is $15. Wheelchair transport suggested donation is $30. No one is turned away for inability to pay. Call to schedule your ride today!
