Tennis

Doubles or singles, tennis is a great way to get moving! Pekin Park District has five outdoor courts available (including two lighted courts) for use at Mineral Springs Park. They are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Parkside Fitness also has four full-sized indoor tennis courts. If you have a 5-star membership with them,  you can have all-season access to this heart-pumping sport. With open court times available throughout the week, it’s well worth the membership investment and gives you plenty of opportunities to play. You can also easily reserve court time online using the Kourts app. For more information, call (309) 347-6644 or go to parksidefitnesspekin.com.

Wallyball

Who would have thought playing the ball off the wall would be so much fun! But that’s exactly what Wallyball does and it continues to be a popular activity for families and friends alike. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll be carving out time in your schedule to plan another game. Wallyball games can be played with teams of 2 to 6 players. Access to Parkside Fitness for Wallyball play is included with membership or rent a court from Parkside Fitness for your family or group at just $15 per court per hour. To reserve a court time, call (309) 347-6644.

Raquetball

Did you know that most recreational players will run two miles and burn over 600 calories during one hour of racquetball? Sign us up for this fun workout! But if that isn’t enough incentive, try this. Racquetball also puts all your muscle groups to work, helping you improve your cardiovascular health, muscle tone, coordination, and flexibility. Sound like the right sport for you? Sign up for an all-access pass with a Parkside Fitness membership or reserve a court as a non-member for just $5 an hour by calling (309) 347-6644.

Pickleball

Ready to change up your workout? Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports and social exercise outlets for all age groups in the U.S! Because it is a combination of badminton, tennis, and table tennis, all you need to play is a court approximately half the size of a tennis court – indoors or outdoors! It’s also easy for almost every age to play because the ball moves slower than a tennis ball and the net is around 4-inches shorter. Want to give it a try? Contact Parkside Fitness to join in on the pickleball craze! Paddles and balls will be provided. Members can play as part of their membership or you can purchase a punchcard as a non-member for $45, good for 10 visits. For more information call (309) 347-6644.
