PERSONAL TRAINING AND CLINICAL DIETITIAN PROFESSIONALS

Chip Doherty, Fitness Director, AMTA, AFAA, YMCA
Chip received his training in the North East where he worked more than 10 years as a Personal Trainer and Massage Therapist.  Prior to joining Parkside Athletics, he spent the past 6 years as Fitness Director for facilities in both the Massachusetts and New Hampshire area.  Chip has also received certification as an instructor in CPR and First Aid. He specializes in working with the de-conditioned population, post rehab, as well as competitive athletes.

Marianne Rush, CSCS, USAW
Marianne has been an employee at Parkside since fall of 2007.  She currently holds certifications as Specialist in Sports Conditioning, USA Strength and Conditioning Coach, Fitness trainer, and Primary Group Exercise; ISSA, and AFFA.  Also is certified to teach kickboxing, step, weightlifting, yoga, Pilates, and mature adult instruction.  Marianne is currently studying Health and Wellness, and Sports performance nutrition

Joe Warning, CSCS, USAW
Joe is a Pekin native and a 2002 graduate of Pekin High school. He graduated from Illinois State University in 2007 with a BS in Exercise Science. Joe is a Certified Strength and Condition Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a certified Sport performance Coach through USA Weight Lifting. Prior to coming to Parkside, he spent the previous two years in the Chicago Cubs organization as a strength and condition coach.

Liz Thorpe, AFAA, ACE, Safax, Kickfit, AED-CPR
Liz has worked in the fitness industry for 15 years. She is the former Head trainer at Riverplex in Peoria. Liz has worked with all ages, fitness levels and environments (Boot Camp, water workouts, woman weight lifting, etc.). She is also a Group Exercise Instructor here at Parkside, teaching Body Pump and Step. Liz loves to focus on cross training her clients to be well rounded healthy people.

Emmy Thies, RD, LDN
Emmy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Foods, Nutrition, and Dietetics from Bradley University, and she completed a Dietetic Internship with Loyola University of Chicago in 2005. Emmy has been a Clinical Dietitian with Pekin Hospital since 2005 specializing in weight management, diabetes education, and nutrition for cardiovascular health.  She is excited to now offer nutrition counseling at Parkside Athletics. Please inquire about counseling sessions with Emmy for weight loss, sports nutrition, or general nutrition at the front desk.  Emmy is dedicated to helping you reach your nutrition goals! “Going beyond the salad, proper nutrition includes foods from ALL food groups.”

 

SPECIALIZED SERVICES
Transitional Physical Therapy Program
Programs specifically designed for individuals concluding out-patient rehabilitation. With your consent we will implement strengthening goals set by your Physical Therapist to assist in your continued recovery.

Sports Specific Training
This program will introduce you to an exciting new training method. Sport Specific training is a workout system that combines strength work and speed work for an optimal training effect. It gives you the maximum results in the shortest amount of time. Combining agility drills with strength training.

Strong Youth
Parkside is committed to introducing adolescent boys and girls to innovative, fun, and safe fitness programs. All programs include physical activity, influential role models, and positive reinforcement to help create exercise and sports as a daily part of a healthy lifestyle.



PERSONAL TRAINING RATES
The personal training rates are divided by 2 packages. The 1st set of rates are hour training sessions. The 2nd set is F.A.D rates. A F.A.D. rate combines (Fitness Assessment and Program Design) as part of your 1st training session. This is a $100 value but included in this package for an additional $40.

Non-members are charged an additional $10.00 per session guest fee.
All personal training sessions have an 8 week expiration. 24 hours cancellation notice required. Otherwise, the session charges will be applied.

 

OTHER SERVICES PROVIDED
Body Composition — $10.00
The 3 site skins fold system taken with the skin fold calipers. Take measurement from 3 sites determines the ratio of lean to fat body tissue.

Fitness Assessment — $30.00
The fitness assessment includes body composition, blood pressure, circumference, resting heart rate and waist to hip ratio measurements. These figures help determine the success of a fitness program and should be repeated every 6-8 weeks.

Program Design — $70.00
Obtain a fitness program to get the results you desire. Includes a complete cardiovascular, and strength fitness program, as well as one hour of personal training.
